IT? It has a name? This one Podiatrist I knew of filled his office with clowns. I guess it was good for business. Clowns have notoriously big feet. Big toenails. Truth is, I don't like clowns. I stole that pic from Lone Grey Squirrel's blog and made up the name. Seemed appropriate since the 4th was Mike's Birthday. The poem was written in my senior year of HS when I should have been reading my assigned books.
I got this great idea:
Instead of flowers and a card, you get a visit from the Happy Birthday Clown. It's just a five minute thing. There is no conversation, singing or gifts involved. The clown only delivers a poem or thoughtful sentiment. If you have a peep hole, and clowns upset you, you can just not answer. The clown is used to it and if the message is undeliverable directly, a sorry I missed you note is left on the door with the poem or what have you. If there is any trouble, he leaves the building immediately.
Sounds like a good idea to me, but not with the "IT" clown! "IT" is the scariest Stephen King book to me...after reading it I had the creeps forever. A clown that lives in the sewer and does horrible things to children.
How about a nice Bozo or Ronald McDonald type instead?
How about Cleepy the Clown just stands in the doorway and says nothing? It could be a game...a staring contest if you don't blink you'll win a trip to Cancun, or a free gym membership.
Or a pie in the face. Aunt Fanny loved to throw pies at Uncle George. Awww those were the days.

Ya think it will fly?
I guess it's been done. Forget it.

Sorry about that Gina but I think I did mention that it was the IT clown in my post. Creepy.
sorry LGS, i took one look and was too scared to read IT! The book, the post. I was just SCARED, and it made a lasting impression. Sorry LGS!
Bozo or Ronald, even the the folks who come to church in the clown outfits. They all scare me. Maybe the sad bum clown?
