pondering- G Clair

well you always give me reason
to believe that you'll come through
be it in or out of season
seems you're steady and you're true
never questioning my motives
never asking for my heart
never lighting up the votives
loving freedom from the start
yes. the love you give is fitting
always proper, keeping pace
with a girl whose sick of sitting
now you're motioning for space
you'll be waving from the sidewalk
as I'm running down the street
lest you'd have to hear that I'd walk
several miles with you in heat
so i have to stop and wonder
why you'd bother then to stay
when you hear the distant thunder
fear the rain that's on the way...

What can I say? Many guys are like that. I'm afraid you just have to trip them up and hog-tie them when they try to back away.

I was thinking that it reminds me of a Fiona Apple song called "Paper Bag".

hmm...I like that song and loved the video of her singing it. yeah, I guess that's pretty much how it goes, huh?

Beat up and bruised like an apple refused on the streets of my heart by an urchin bemused and I can't help but wonder what's there in the can, is it lunch, got a hunch, heard a crunch, it's a man! And he's hogtied and weary and blurry and blue, so I free him and see him and bid him adieu.

Thanks LGS. I avoid the trappings. Best to let the uninterested party alone and wait for the right one who wants to stick around!

Anon, nice chorus! Thanks.

Ooo. That chorus is very nice. It's got a natural wild rhythm.

someone read me a passage today about forgiveness being the key to action and freedom. When there is nothing to forgive it's even more important to reflect on expectations, if they were realistic. Best to love freely without expectations and protect one's own heart.
