the run-around

It went around
and came around, and went around again.
Then it came around, went back around
and came around again.

"What's with all the run around?"
I asked my breathless friend.
"Guess what goes around, will come around
right up until the end."

"But what's all this you're chasing down?"
I asked the weary man~
"Been chasin' all these wimin,
and they've yet to slow me down."

"Who runs this ride you run beside,
and can't they cut the speed?"
"I have no clue, but maybe you
can jump this thing, and plead."

Just one last run around, dear girl
take a ride and wait for me,
I appreciate everything you do
I'm a sick sorry son of a b.

So I hopped aboard his dream machine
where painted ladies rode the poles
pushed passed the blown out bimbos
to the room which housed controls.

I peeked inside the window
and much to my surprise
there was no one manning anything
on this carousel of lies.

A sea of lovely lonelies
rode 'The Future' from the past
and my friend went 'round a few more times
didn't know how long he'd last.

Suddenly he was on the ground
and draggin' on his knees
with sweat upon his forehead, I said,
"Hey Jackass, let go. Please."

"One last run around, dear girl
don't you worry none about me
I appreciate your deep concern
but I'm a sick sorry son of a b".

Well, it took some major doing
to release his grip of fear
I prayed and jumped, and though bruised and bumped
was finally in the clear.

You've cashed in all your chips, my friend
but you'll be back for more, I see
for it's you who controls 'The Future'
my sick sorry son of a b.

We hobbled from the Carn-evil,
my weary friend and me
what comes around WILL go around
Hope the truth will set him free.

yeah, JohnB-

While certainly there is no esaping the truth ("Be not deceived, God is not mocked, whatsoever a man soweth, he shall reap." Gal 6:7), there is a way to break from the things that may cause a person to feel trapped...the power and courage to change!!!!

"And you shall know the truth,
and the truth will set you free."

love the new layout.
Did you notice the Queen of England wore light green and hot pink to the Kentucky Derby? A lot of the older ladies at the FUNdraiser we attended were wearing the same shade.
Gee, I thought yellow was the "it" color for spring.

Anyway, keep on writin'! That CD wasn't the greatest thing. Phil has his head screwed on backwards.

The Ventures, on the other hand, are, in a word, cool.

Are you coming with me to NYC on Wednesday?

who does Kevin Spacey think he is anyway?

Why thank you, Ang!
I lean towards this combo...I remembered having painted my front door and flower boxes this Clinique green ( less of a chartruse) and planted lavender impatiens which overflowed into big poofy things and I missed having that soft fresh color. I saw a beautiful Wysteria in full bloom today on my way to work. How are your flowers coming? Hey, planted two shades of pink impatiens in my mom's planter yesterday, and magenta wave petunias in her driveway planters, so it's looking spring on Burton Drive. Yeah I like small doses of yellow, like in a daisy. Not going all out to drape myself in it. Prefer orange. I missed the Derby and the Queen. Rats. Hey...wanna go to a lunch with me and my mom and a couple other people on Saturday? Rhonda Freidel is going to be speaking! You don't wanna miss that. We can do the NYC thing on Sunday if you want....

Phil loves to imitate a lounge singer which is kinda cute for a old heavy metal head.Beyond the Sea is right up his alley. I missed the movie but like watching those old YOU TUBEs.

The Ventures still hanging in there i see.

This piece pulled me into the motion of the words - excellent writing!! And yes, you bet what comes around goes around, always has and always will. I agree with Angela, your new page look is Springtime fresh and beautiful! Though I wish your whole bio wouldn't have suddenly disappeared - it was a good read!

i write these things on a whim and then go back and read em and let the editting process of my brain take over. When I read my bio, I gagged. I reminded me of " I am Elmer J Fudd, Millionaire. I own a mansion and a yacht"...Please, I am so sick of myself by now. I would gladly write about someone else's lot and dreams in life!

But thank you for sayin so, Jo! Too bad you don't live in NJ so I could invite you out with the girls. Rats.
how do you do that profile so it doesn't show?

This weekend is going to be pretty crazy, I'm on full-time taxi duty...with Bernie away and all.
But, thanks for asking and have a nice time. I had a great time at the FCA Fashion Show!
